Seeing Who We Really Are

As the couple featured in this video share, one of the most important ways to overcome the widespread ignorance and prejudice surrounding same-sex marriage is simply by getting to know some of us - "seeing who we really are." In my experience, when that happens the misconceptions start to melt away and gradually friends and family come to see that same-sex couples have the same aspirations that so many other couples do - simply to love and be loved, to care for their families, and to contribute to and serve their communities.

May God's Spirit speak through the love of all couples and help to overcome the fear and ignorance that still plague our society.
