Closer to Fine

I thought for the next few days I'd share some examples of how LGBT people have long ago shaken the dust off their feet and left behind prejudices directed against them and started reclaiming their God-given rights to dignity, respect and love.

Today's musical example comes from the pop and folk due the Indigo Girls - Amy Ray and Emily Saliers. Both of these women are proud to be who they are as lesbians and have been inspiring countless young people and working for social justice for decades now. No doubt they fail to comply with how the Pope and others think all women "should" be, but in their honest sharing of who they are they show that God, creation and life itself are all much bigger than the narrow categories we sometimes try to impose on them.

Thanks, Amy and Emily, for your awesome music and for showing us how beautiful it is to be who you are.

Peace,
P. Chuck
