Working for Marriage Equality

This video from the Christian singer Ray Boltz was prepared by Soulforce, an organization I've shared about here in previous blog entries. Although there's still much work to do in the various churches and places of worship that still struggle with same-sex marriage, it is becoming clearer to many that denying civil marriage rights to same-sex couples is not only unfair but also discriminatory and analogous in many ways to some of the injustices we've been fighting in our country for the past several decades.

Although my greatest hope with this blog is to help reach hearts and minds within churches and other places of worship, I also hope that this can be a place to reflect on the ways in which discrimination against LGBT people is also very much a civil rights and social justice issue in our country and our world.
